Care and Protection.
Simply Amish furniture will be with your family for generations to come. Here are few guidelines to help with proper care.

The finish we use is a catalyzed varnish that, when cured, is very hard and resistant to water and alcohol. Be careful not to drag items that may cause scratches before the finish is cured. It takes approximately 30 days to fully cure.

Use a damp cloth for normal cleaning. Regular polishing with a polish that DOES NOT include silicone, wax, solvents or abrasives is highly recommended.

When spills occur, they should be wiped up quickly. Prolonged exposure to moisture may cause damage to the finish and can void your warranty.

Avoid placing your furniture too close to heat sources such as a register. Prolonged exposure to direct heat can cause cracking or warping and can void your warranty. Avoid placing your furniture in direct sunlight.

Do not place hot items, such as pots and pans, on the surface without protection.

Maintain a level of relative humidity in your home around 35%. If the relative humidity falls below 35% your furniture may dry up and crack. If this occurs, it will be corrected when you return the relative humidity to optimal levels. Likewise, if the relative humidity in your home gets much higher than 35%, it may cause your solid wood furniture to swell or warp. Again, returning your humidity to optimal levels will correct this. Humidity gauges are available at most hardware stores. Maintaining your home's relative humidity near 35% will make it more comfortable for you and your furniture.
